Dr. Michelle Thirkield

Dr. Michelle Thirkield is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to those she works with. She has a specialized interest in working with children, young adults, and their families managing anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Dr. Thirkield utilizes a strengths-based approach to help those she works with meet their goals and improve their quality of life. She enjoys integrating humor into her clinical work when appropriate to build insight.

Dr. Thirkield has experience supporting individuals with a broad range of challenges including selective mutism, separation anxiety, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, phobias, disordered eating, obsessive-compulsive disorders, trichotillomania, excoriation disorder, and behavior disorders. She is trained in providing evidence-based treatments including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), parent management training (PMT), parent-child interaction therapy for selective mutism (PCIT-SM), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). Dr. Thirkield utilizes an integrative approach to ensure individualized care for those she works with. 

In her free time Michelle enjoys comedy, high-intensity workouts, and getting out into nature with her daughter!
