Dr. Magdalena Buczek
Dr. Magda Buczek is a co-founder of Evoke, and a proud native New Yorker born to an immigrant family from Poland. Growing up in culturally diverse communities where mental health was rarely discussed, Dr. Buczek developed an early passion for psychology and destigmatizing mental health care. These early experiences continue to inform her practice and her commitment to creating inclusive, accessible, and evidence-based care for individuals and families.
Dr. Buczek provides evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She works with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents, helping clients navigate anxiety, mood challenges, behavioral issues, and family dynamics. At the core of Dr. Buczek’s approach is the belief that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of meaningful change. Her warm, validating, and nonjudgmental style helps clients feel safe and understood, while her gentle yet direct encouragement empowers them to take active steps toward growth and healing. Through this balance of compassion and accountability, Dr. Buczek supports patients and families in achieving their therapeutic goals and building lasting emotional well-being.
With adult clients, Dr. Buczek integrates CBT and DBT to create highly personalized, goal-oriented treatment plans. She takes time to understand each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and challenges, ensuring that therapy is both collaborative and tailored to their needs. Whether an individual is navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship concerns, life transitions, or work-related stress, Dr. Buczek offers a balanced approach that combines validation, practical skills, and structured problem solving. Her work emphasizes helping clients build insight, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop effective coping strategies that can be applied in everyday life. Grounded in warmth and curiosity, Dr. Buczek’s therapeutic style empowers adults to create meaningful change while feeling supported, understood, and guided every step of the way.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Buczek is deeply involved in advancing the field through her roles as a school consultant, trainer, and clinical supervisor. She has partnered with schools across New York and Connecticut to implement CBT and DBT programs that enhance students’ emotional regulation and resilience. As an expert supervisor, she mentors developing clinicians—fostering their professional growth, clinical skill, and reflective practice.
